Pre-Publication Offer
The cover for my new book was designed by Paul Sudhakar. Paul is a brilliant young man from South India, who was one of my students at the seminar on Christian Evidences, which I taught last spring at New Hope Church in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Vitaly Sorokun planted New Hope Church as an outreach to the multitude of international students in the city of Kharkiv – and now has members from eight universities and students from Mongolia to Madagascar! Paul is not only brilliant, he is talented with technology and owns his own on-line business – including designing graphics. Last spring he won first prize in the world for designing a space station that would house 20,000 people. NASA hired him!
Paul was the student who asked me more questions than any other, and later he told me he was sharing questions that unbelievers have asked him. He was gathering answers to “be ready to give an answer” to them. Praise God!!! That fulfills my primary goal when I teach. We have kept in touch by email. I asked Paul if he would design a book cover for me and how much it would cost. He told me that since this is for the Kingdom of God, he would design it for free. He sent us four samples. I heard Della saying, “Wow! Wow!” as she looked at the samples he sent. When we forwarded the one we chose to Bruce Malone, he replied in just a few moments by saying, “That is a really sharp cover! It is probably the most eye catching cover I’ve seen in a long time. I wouldn’t change anything.”
Here is what I wrote to Paul in a recent email: “I believe your cover design is going to be a key factor in drawing attention to the contents of my book. It really got Della’s attention when you sent the ideas and it really got Bruce’s attention. My major appeal in the book is to Christians for repentance and revival. Please pray that this book will be one spark for revival and massive spiritual awakening. There are other sparks also – please pray that God fans these sparks together to a flame of true, genuine revival fire.”
Bruce Malone is a brilliant chemist and a creation scientist with 17 patents to his credit, and he is also a very effective creation evangelist and founder of Search for the Truth Ministries. I’m honored that Bruce is willing and ready to publish “More Than Conquerors in Cultural Clashes”. (He also published the second edition of “Ready to Give an Answer” and the first edition of “Is the Bible Without Any Errors?” However, since Search for the Truth is a ministry which gives away multitudes of books to high school and college students, as well as to prison ministries, we need to help raise funds for publication. Would you like to help? Prayer Answer and Requests
1. We prayed for God’s wisdom about whether or not I should go on a mission trip this fall by asking for a specific amount to cover the travel expenses and still keep our commitments to our co-workers in Ukraine. God’s answer of “wait” means that I am not planning a mission trip this fall. Perhaps next fall I can accept Steve Bragg’s invitation to teach and preach on evidences in the Philippines. I hope to return to Germany and Ukraine in the spring of 2014, our Lord willing. For this fall I need to work Deighton Lighting and promote Northwest Science Museum to the best of my ability.
2. Pray for us to get the Vision Center for Northwest Science Museum into operation soon! We have rented a room at 3118 Wildwood (which actually faces King Street), one block north of Fairview. We plan to use first-class displays there to promote our vision for NWSM. We need your prayers, your help, and your donations to bring this soul-winning, culture-impacting project to tangible reality. “Let this be a small sign about how God is working…I just communicated with the landlord for the building. Apparently, he knows all about the NWSM since he heard Doug speak before. Here are his exact words in an email to me:
‘I actually attended a class [Doug] did on creation science at Calvary Chapel Boise. His class actually convinced me that creation science had merit. I was staunchly opposed to the idea and thought I would take the class just to hear the other side of the argument, but when I took his class, I realized that there was just as much evidence to support a literal 7 day creation as there was to support evolution. I’ve been a big proponent of creation science ever since.’
“Who knows what that might mean in the future. But never forget how God waters the seeds that you plant. Doug planted this seed in this man’s heart and now he is in a position to help the museum. I am not saying that he will help it, but he certainly is in a position to do so. Time will tell…

A Note from Della
Falling on our Faces before Our God
Recently I moved a couple of pillows from the bed to put on either side of our sleeping granddaughter so she wouldn’t roll off onto the floor. A few minutes later when I walked back through the bedroom, I noticed that the stuffed teddy bear, which usually sits propped on the pillows, was on its face. My immediate thought was, “That’s what we, as a nation, need to be doing – falling on our faces before God and pleading for His mercy and grace!” (Of course, if I ever got down there, I may not be able to get back up without help, but that’s beside the point.☺) What we really need to be doing is humbling ourselves before Him, asking for the restoring of America to be a “nation under God”. I love our country so much that I cannot even hear “The Star-Spangled Banner” without the tears flowing. I long for our beloved country to return to being “the land of the free and the home of the brave” and to have the godly values and principles it once had.
“O nations of the world, recognize the Lord; recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come to worship him. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him. Tell all the nations that the Lord is king. The world is firmly established and cannot be shaken.
