Which Way America?
“In God We Trust” – or “In Government We Trust”
Almighty God says, “Those who honor me I will honor” 1 Samuel 2:30. I certainly believe this applies to individuals, but I also believe it applies to nations, for the Word of God also tells us, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” Proverbs 14:34. Today as I write this (October 6) it is exactly one month before the most critical election in the history of this constitutional republic. Remember – this is a constitutional republic which was intentionally founded by our forefathers – not a democracy! Do you remember our pledge? “I pledge allegiance to the flag… and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Plato wrote over 300 B.C. that a pure democracy could never last because the people would bankrupt the treasury when they discovered they could vote themselves more and more money from the public treasury. The current administration is not only bankrupting the treasury, but also seeking to obliterate God from government, from schools, from morals, and from public life. Do you remember that Barack Hussein Obama leaves God out of the Declaration of Independence? He says “endowed with certain…” instead of “endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights”. If our rights are not “endowed by our Creator” but by our government, then the government can take them away (which is already happening to an alarming degree). In view of these facts and the critical timing of this letter, I now share with you a powerful article written partially by Michael Savage and partly by a commentator (unknown to me).
“Could 2012 be America’s Last Presidential Election?”
“I’ve asked this question to a number of people and most of them respond as if I were crazy. They tell me that this is America, land of the free, and that there will always be elections. I tell them that we are no longer the land of the free and that if Obama gets re-elected in 2012 that this just may be America’s last election.
“In the past three years, the Obama administration has been very carefully crafting the nation for a political take over by his Marxist regime, and this isn’t just my opinion.
“Popular radio talk show host (of the Savage Nation on the Talk Radio Network), Michael Savage, is the son of Russian immigrants and is very familiar with Soviet and European history. Savage warned his listeners this week saying, “I have to tell you that if this man, God forbid, is the next president of the United States, we’re going to be living in something along the lines of – people say – Europe. I don’t believe it’s going to be like Europe – I think it will be closer to Chavez’s South American dictatorship.
“This is the most corrupt, incompetent, dangerous tyrannical administration in American history. It’s not politics as usual. It’s not just Democrats versus Republicans. Obama has a long history of being at odds with American values and with America itself and the core principles of this country. They don’t want government-sponsored opinions. They only want government-sponsored ‘Pravda’. That’s exactly what the government-media complex tells you on a daily basis – nothing but the government-media complex party line. Pay attention! Your freedom may be at stake!
“Former Republican presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, told a small group of people in an Iowa coffee house that ‘Barack Obama is not incompetent, ladies and gentleman. He knows exactly what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. He sees America differently than you see America.’
“[Obama] has gone out of his way to divide this country in a way I haven’t seen since the Great Depression when Franklin Roosevelt went around to divide his country. That’s his hero. What makes America great [in Obama’s mind] is that the government takes money from somebody and gives it to somebody else. No, that’s what makes America, France.
“With his control over the Executive and Judicial branches of the government, the stage is set for a complete takeover of the government. Think about it! Since taking office, instead of helping the economy, Obama has purposely escalated the economic crisis by plunging the country into unprecedented debt. He has a number of programs that are designed to go into effect in January 2013, just in time for his second term of office. The economic burden and increased taxes on everyone will be enough to cause the final economic collapse of the country. As soon as that happens, Obama declares Martial Law and assumes dictatorial control of the nation.
“The Department of Justice has already been subverting federal laws to strip us of a number of freedoms. The Supreme Court and many of the other federal courts have been seeded with socialistic liberal judges that will rule in Obama’s favor on virtually anything, thus ending constitutional rule and law.
“He’s already changing the face of America’s military. Allowing homosexuals to openly serve along with changing the retirement program is causing many conservative military leaders to resign commissions and leave the military. Some Pentagon officials are also noting that an increase in the enlistment of radical Muslims into the US military where they get all the training they need on weapons and defense systems. We have no idea how many of them there are in the armed forces or what positions they may hold.
“Obama has been wielding executive powers this past year as if he were already a dictator. When Congress is not doing his bidding, he simply bypasses them and uses an executive order to accomplish it anyway. This has set the stage for his disbandment of Congress. He would not be the first world leader to take control of a nation and disband the legislative branch of government.
“He has been effectively using the media to anesthetize the public to the dangers he poses. Like a patient being prepped for surgery, people are numb to the changes and won’t have a clue what took place until they wake up in recovery and realize that free America has been removed and replaced with a regime that may parallel those of Stalin, Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Chavez and Castro.
“For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I earnestly pray that we are spared from what seems a certain future and that Obama is overwhelmingly defeated in 2012. Otherwise, heaven help us. OBAMA MUST BE DEFEATED IN 2012!”
Are You as Committed to Jesus as Marxists and Muslims are to their Ideology?
As we face critical times and crucial threats, do we shrink in fear like weak-kneed Saul or charge forward in faith like bold-hearted David? The difference was the focus! Saul was focused on the size of Goliath compared to his own puny strength. David was focused on the size of Goliath compared to Almighty God. How dare this pagan Philistine defy the army of the Living God? Where is your focus? “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, and power and a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7. But beware – conquering confidence does not come from compromising convictions! Are your eyes concentrated on Jesus? Are you uncompromisingly committed to Him? He is our Rock and the joy of our salvation! “But my eyes are upon You, O God the Lord; In You I take refuge.” Psalm 141:8. Let’s constantly keep “looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith”. As we do, the Holy Spirit keeps transforming us more and more into His likeness so we can be bold as lions.
We yearn for you to have the joy we have found in Jesus. I didn’t have this joy when I was in high school living a double life – because “a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.” On a cold winter night I walked out of the Teen Canteen (dance hall) and looked back on it on one side and the church building a block away on the other side. As I thought about my lifestyle, I realized I couldn’t keep running with the crowd doing what they do and calling myself a Christian. That is when I made a second decision for Jesus – that He means more to me than all my habits and friends. (I soon found out they were not true friends when I started trying to share Jesus with them. Most of them avoided me – even one I thought was my best friend.) But some listened and followed Jesus. That opened to me the greatest joy of my life. That is the joy we are praying for you. Here is our wish for you: “Now may the God of hope fill you with great peace and joy as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13.
Committed “More Than Conquerors” Co-Workers
We now have many committed, competent co-workers in Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Germany, and Georgia, but our three closest companion co-workers for the past eleven years are all “more than conquerors” in Christ – Georges Carillet, Sergei Golovin, and Zhenya Molodchy. I am very glad to announce to you that Georges Carillet’s article “Commonwealth International University – A Story of Transformed Lives” was the focus article in the September issue of Horizon mission magazine. If you don’t get Horizon and would like a copy of the article, please contact us. Sergei Golovin’s training program for equipping aggressive young apologists to dynamically share the gospel in the context of true scientific evidences is featured in the latest email report from Good News Productions International, and Zhenya Molodchy’s latest newsletter contains positive, pertinent, and powerful openings for Zhenya to share the gospel with police, prisoners, and orphans. These men of God and their devoted wives (one for each, by the way) certainly deserve our respect, our prayers and our support. Our Overseas Outreach is primarily a support ministry for effective outreach ministries like these operating on shoestring budgets. Will you ask God, “Lord, what would You have me to do?”
In this letter I want to share with you a portion of Zhenya’s newsletter first, then the Good News Productions report. Hopefully next month we can share some from Georges’ article and from Sergei’s great report about September outreaches.
Zhenya’s Report
“There were two other important events during August. The group of young people in Christian
Life Church has received baptism. Our church had a special celebration Sunday during that day. The weather was good and we performed baptism outdoors in the lake near our church building.
On Transfiguration Sunday I (Zhenya) was able to visit juvenile prison and had a chance to
meet with 17 orphans. My co-worker in prison ministry, Tatyana, and I prepared gifts, candies and apples for teenagers. We also had a chance to share the Gospel with them. At the end of the invitation 14 kids came forward and confessed Christ as their personal Savior. I also had a chance to make a follow up visit and an opportunity to preach to 150 teenagers at one time. Please, continue to pray for this work and for the opportunity to work with the prison administration and workers as we do it in other prisons. In September we resumed our lecturers on spiritual and moral issues for prison workers and police departments.”

Young and Courageous Like Joshua

“At only 17 years old, David Malinovskiy is the youngest student in FD-222. A few weeks ago he taught 5 seminars to large audiences in his home city of Dnepropetrovsk. David was later invited to present his seminar for others at various other places in Dnepropetrovsk as well as in Kharkov (an intellectual center of the Red Belt and a major stronghold of atheism).

to teach people to logically defend their faith in a post-communistic context. One of Sergei’s newest, most effective strategies is FD-222.”

“FD-222 is a training program that targets gifted, young adults. The main event is a camp for these potential national leaders in the Creation Evangelism movement. Students show their commitment to FD-222 by completing mandatory pre-camp assignments. After camp, the 14 students were given more assignments. They were all working toward their ultimate assignment—each student would teach a seminar on an issue of their choice.”

Tribute to Sergei & Olga Golovin
Sergei and Olga are the founders of Christian Center for Science & Apologetics, based in Simferopol in the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine. Although Sergei is himself a brilliant scientist (geophysicist) who now also has his doctorate in Christian ministry, he freely says, “Olga is the brains of this operation.” (This demonstrates both his wisdom and humility – and explains why he also teaches for marriage and family seminars.) Sergei is the man who invited me to come to Ukraine to speak for the “Man and the Christian Worldview” symposium in the spring of 2001. These symposiums and conferences were started by Georges Carillet and designed by both Georges and Sergei as “an outreach to the tribes of intellectuals in the former soviet union nations – an unreached people group”.
Sergei is a man of conviction, concentration and compassion. The pastor of a mega-church in Pennsylvania who came to speak at the conference said to Sergei in my presence, “You are a visionary!” It’s true. From its humble beginning in Sergei and Olga’s home, CCSA has grown by the grace of God to impact millions in the Russian-speaking world with seminars, books, videos, DVDs and television appearances. Besides that, their multiple page story published in the fall edition of Creation Magazine in 2000 impacted my life forever – and may have also touched the lives of thousands of other English readers worldwide.
By the way, even though Olga is not the only brains of the operation, she is both brilliant and beautiful – and a very gracious hostess. I know, because I’ve been a guest in their home many times – and look forward to the next opportunity to be with them again. It is truly an honor to be a co-worker with this wonderful couple – humble, effective servants of the Living God.

“Thank you so much for your newsletter! Also we read the situation about the Victory Christian Church. We are sorry to hear that, but glad that everything was worked out peacefully. And this is what is important. God will be used and will be glorified and we ourselves will find new ways and opportunities for him.
“We are doing fine, not counting on lack of sleep and the fact that I had an accident yesterday while driving. Not my fault. Praise God. I was hit at the back by another car and was damaged. They gave me some money for the repairs because they did not want to ask for police. Now I will have some extra work to do.
“On another side, last week I just had an excellent talk with prison officers. The topic was a freedom and its importance for us. God gave me good ability that day to share God as the source of freedom for us…..

I will certainly review your prayer updates. I look forward to receiving them. Truthfully, you have never been out of balance in my opinion. I do chafe at those who become overly argumentative, but we need to challenge the status quo!

Conclusion
2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” What is faith? Faith is finding, following and fulfilling the will of God for my life! Are you finding, following, and fulfilling God’s will for your life? If you don’t know the big picture of His will for your life, just obey His commands that you do know. 2 Corinthians 5:9 says, “Therefore we make it our aim…to be well pleasing to Him.” Is it your purpose in life to please God – or to please yourself? Consider these specific verses.
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality”
1 Thessalonians 4:3. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thess. 5:1 6-18. Are you pleasing God by obeying Him in these clear commands? If so, He will reveal to you what your next step is. It’s exciting! It’s our greatest joy!
